Centrifuge

The centrifuge is a machine used by scientists to separate different compounds and components of a liquid. The liquid samples are placed into a tube, which is spun at high speeds by the centrifuge, causing the components of the liquid to separate based on weight. The heaviest things will be at the bottom, and the lightest things will be on the top. After removing the tube from the machine, the scientist will separate out the components and take what they need. Some typical products from the centrifuge are solids extracted from the liquid or a purified liquid. The machine is used in many experiments, from cell culture to isolating DNA or RNA and more.
